چکیده

Results Histology was positive for high-grade cancer in 27/50 patients. Lesions deemed to be suspicious for cancer (PI-RADS score 4 and 5) had a positive predictive value of 83% (25/30), and were located correctly in 88%. Lesions deemed to be benign (PI-RADS score 1/2) had a negative predictive value of 80% (8/10). Equivocal lesions (PI-RADS score 3) were histologically higher grade (Gleason 3+4 and greater) in 30% (3/10), Gleason 3+3 in 10% (1/10) and negative in 60% (6/10). The overall sensitivity/specificity was 93%/62% respectively.

Evaluation of Multiparametric Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Detection and Prediction of Prostate Cancer

BACKGROUND Although European Society of Urogenital Radiology proposed the potential of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (MP-MRI) as a tool in the diagnostic pathway for prostate cancer (PCa) and published a unified scoring system named Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS version 1), these still need to be validated by real-life studies. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the role...

Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging-transrectal ultrasound fusion prostate biopsy: A prospective, single centre study

INTRODUCTION Transrectal rectal ultrasound (TRUS)-guided systematic biopsy is the gold standard for diagnosis of prostate cancer. However, systematic biopsy has high false-negative rate and often misses anteriorly located tumors. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-TRUS fusion biopsy can potentially improve cancer detection by better visualization and targeting of cancer focus. We evaluated the ro...

Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging/transrectal ultrasound fusion prostate biopsy with semi-robotic navigation in the Chinese population: initial results

defined according to the Prostate Imaging – Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS) version 2 published in 2015.9 There were five PI-RADS assessment categories (1–5) correlating with probability of having significant cancer. The software Profuse (Eigen, Grass Valley, CA, USA) was used to outline the contour of the prostate and any PI-RADS 2–5 lesions. The Digital Imaging and Communication in Medici...

Assessing the validity of Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System version 2 (PI-RADS v2) scoring system in diagnosis of peripheral zone prostate cancer

THE PURPOSE Assessing the accuracy of multi parametric magnetic resonance (mp-MRI) after application of PI-RADS V2 for diagnosis of prostate cancer as comparison to pathological results of trans rectal ultra-sound (TRUS) guided biopsy. PATIENTS AND METHODS 138 prostatic lesions in 23 patients were retrospectively assessed and analyzed with Trans rectal ultra-sound (TRUS) guided biopsy results...

Role of MRI prebiopsy in men at risk for prostate cancer: taking off the blindfold.

PURPOSE OF REVIEW We review recent literature surrounding the use of prebiopsy prostate MRI and MRI-targeted biopsy in men at risk for prostate cancer. RECENT FINDINGS Large series have strengthened the case for the use of MRI prior to prostate biopsy to maximize the detection of clinically significant disease, reduce the detection of clinically insignificant disease, and allow for tumor loca...
